Clubs & Organizations

All students are invited and encouraged to take part in campus clubs and organizations. Below is a list of the clubs and organizations offered at YES Prep Northside.

ACE Club Descriptions

**Study halls are offered Mondays, Tuesdays for 1 hour in room 304. Students can complete homework, seek help from an instructor and/or read a JRB. This is open to 6-12th grade students**

  • Morning Lab: Morning lab is a space available for calculus students to get more one-on-one help w/ Mr. Trier *this club is only open to Mr. Trier’s students*
 
  • *Pom-Squad: Pom-Squad is the 2019-2020 cheer/dance team. Pom-Squad members are responsible for bringing on the school spirit for all games, assemblies, and school activities. This club is open to 6th- 12th grade students. *this club is closed for spring 2020*
 
  • Bigger, Faster, Stronger: Want to get bigger? Faster? Stronger? BFS is a weightlifting club for students who want to better their athletic performance. This club is great for students in off-sports seasons to stay in shape to prepare for their sport. This club is open to 6th- 12th grade students. 
 
  • *Student Council: Want to make changes on campus? Want to keep Northside’s school pride alive? Then apply for StuCo! StuCo is Northside’s student government. Students will oversee maintaining school culture and being the voice of the student body. *Students must apply to be in Student Council*
 
  • Learning While: B.L.A.C.K.: This club is a safe space for students to discuss things that affect the Black community. This club is designed up build leadership skills and academic confidence in students. Topics will cover all things that relate to Black/African Americans, but all are welcome to attend. *This club is for high school only* 
 
  • Photography: Do you have an eye for a great photo? Would you like to know more about editing photos to get your likes up on Instagram? Then this is the club for you! Students will learn all there is to know about photography. Please see Ms. Kiang to attend this club. *This club is for high school students only*
 
  • Robotics: One day robots will run the world … or will they? If you enjoy creating and learning about robots, then join this club! Robotics will build their own robot and can potentially participate in robotic competitions. This club is open to 6-12th grade students. 
 
  • Sports Fun: Want to play sports for fun? Look no further! Attend sports fun and play various sports, such as volleyball, kickball, soccer, and more! This club is open to 6-12th grade students. 
 
  • Art: Express yourself creatively! Attend art club and use your mind to create your own kind of art. Students will create arts and crafts. This club is open to 6-12th grade students. 
 
  • Cooking: Join cooking and learn how to make delicious vegan and vegetarian dishes! Don’t knock it until you try it! *Limited slots available*
 
  • Excuse My FRO (MS): It’s all about girls! It’s all about you. Come and learn about self-love, self-efficacy, and more! *This club is open to middle school girls only*
 
  • Step: Express yourself through rhythm and movements with your body! Get involved in your community. Join the step club today! This club is open to 6-12th grade students
 
  • Theater Production: Capture the world in front of or behind the scenes! Get your subscribers up by learning how to create and operate your own YouTube channel or about news broadcasting. The theater production club has it all! *This club only has 15 slots available*
 
  • Northside Corps: Are you interested in giving back to your community? Do you want to get back to the Youth Engaged in Service moments at Northside? Join Northside Corps. This club will participate in service learning on campus as well as in the community! It’s also a great resume builder. *This club is open to high school only*
