Permission Forms
On Monday, April 15, student received a paper copy of the permission form for you to complete and have it returned to campus. All students grades 8-11 are expected to support the seniors as they declare where they are going to college. Please complete the paper copy OR digital form that is located in Skyward to let us know if your want your student to attend the event. More information about the event will be shared at a later date.

SSD Permission Form Grades 8-11
- All 8-11th grade students who are attending will be required to wear a YES Prep turquoise shirt. If your student does not have one, advise them to speak with Ms. Williams (Director of Student Support).
- All 6th and 7th grade students will remain on campus and watch Senior Signing Day together.

AP Testing
Students must be in their testing room by 8:30am to start the testing directions, so should aim to be at school by 8:15am at the latest to provide enough time to have breakfast and get ready for testing. If students are late, they will not be able to test and there are no make-up days.
ALL seniors will take the AP English Langauge exam on Tuesday 14th May.
AP US History is a digital exam and students must bring a fully charged laptop. Laptops will be needed from the start as students will need to check in to the exam to show they are present.
Attendance Contest
*All students who earn a Perfect Attendance each week will be rewarded a Flex time outside during their lunch, in addition to earning a raffle entry.
Transportation
Have you filled out the Transportation registration for next school year?
If you haven’t done so already, please take this opportunity to fill out the 2024-2025 Transportation Registration Form available through Skyward Family Access. The 2024-2025 Transportation Registration Form closes on Friday, June 14. Remember that if your physical address in Skyward is not up to date, you need to contact your school’s registrar as soon as possible so you can complete the Transportation Enrollment Form. Returning students who do NOT submit their forms by June 14 will have to wait until August 30 to submit their transportation request. If you need additional support, you can find instructions on how to complete the Transportation Registration Form by clicking here.
End of Year Grade Level Trips
We have began planning and sending out information for End of Year Grade Level trips! Students must meet the following criteria starting from 3/20/23.
- Starting after spring break, March 20, 2023, we began monitoring attendance. Students can not miss more than 3 days in order to be eligible for the Spring trip.
- Students can not have any suspensions (ISS/OSS).
- Students can not have more than 3 detentions (late to school does not count).
- Students must be passing all classes at the time of the trip.
*** The Athletic Banquet is for only YES Prep Northside student athletes and 2 guests.

In January, 11th grade students had the opportunity to learn about IMPACT at IMPACT Saturday, and we are excited for your next step in the program based on strong academic performance.
Program Information:
IMPACT Institute is a one-day college access event for rising seniors which will be held on May 18th, 2024:

IMPACT Institute is a comprehensive, one-day event for you to learn more about the college admissions process, build relationships with the admissions representatives from IMPACT colleges and universities and start thinking critically about your own college application process.
During the Institute, you will take part in workshops and discussions that are designed to complement the work you do in Junior Seminar classes and help prepare you for the selective admissions process. Another exciting aspect of the Institute is that a representative from each of our IMPACT Partner colleges/universities will be serving as faculty for the conference. This means that you will have the opportunity to meet and work with the people that will be reading your applications in the fall! Truly, this is an incredible opportunity to learn more about our IMPACT Partner institutions while also helping them learn more about you!
Family & Parent Participation:
Parents and families are invited to participate in IMPACT Institute. Parents can join to learn about the steps their students can take this summer. Additionally, we will host an IMPACT College Fair where students and their families can interact with IMPACT representatives from our partner colleges.

Uniforms policy for the 2024-2025 school year
At YES Prep, we continue to see the benefits of students wearing YES Prep uniforms and apparel, including a sense of school pride, improved safety and more convenience for families. For this reason, we will have a standard uniform policy for the 2024-2025 school year. Students will be required to wear a YES Prep-branded polo or spirit shirt five days a week, with the option to wear a school-chosen variation like a college shirt on Fridays.
2024-2025 Uniform Sale Price:
ELEMENTARY - $4 spirit shirt; $7 polo shirt; $26 uniform bundle (3 spirit shirts, 2 polo shirts)
SECONDARY - $5 spirit shirt; $8 polo shirt $31 uniform bundle (3 spirit shirts, 2 polo shirts)
The YES Prep polos and spirit shirts will be available for purchase beginning Friday, May 17. You will receive an email, text and call via SchoolMessenger on that day notifying you that the online store is open.

Student Lunches
* Only Seniors are allowed to order lunch via Doordash UberEats, etc. on Fridays.
* Families may drop of meals for their students' and leave it at the front office.
* Students are responsible for picking up their meals during their designated grade level lunch.
*Parents/Guardians are only allowed to bring lunch for their student only.

Free Summer Meals - June 3-28
Beginning Mon., June 3, at all YES Prep 21 elementary and secondary schools, children ages 18 and younger, and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old, can continue to eat healthy throughout the summer at no cost.
