ASPIRE Afterschool Clubs Enrollment Directions (Fall 2024)

The YES Prep Secondary ASPIRE (After-School Program for Identity, Relationships, and Enrichment) exists for students to participate in supplemental academic and enrichment activities that help students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities to reinforce and complement the regular academic program, and offers activities to help students to become college ready and ready for all post-secondary opportunities.

YPNS is proud to offer the following afterschool programs for the Fall Semester of 2024:

PRIDE Alliance Eric Hernandez	An inclusive and supportive space for students to express their authentic selves, learn about LBTQIA+ issues, and work together to promote understanding and acceptance in the school community. Mirror Me Alexis Dixon	Promotes women's development by providing enrichment in social and emotional skills, business and branding, as well as practical knowledge in cosmetology, esthetics, mental health, hygiene, and self-care. National Art Honor Society Rebekah Tee	Celebrates and promotes the pursuit of excellence in visual arts while encouraging artistic development and community engagement.	10-12th grade, cumulative GPA 3.0+ and must be enrolled in an art class	September 10th – December 3rd Every Tuesday	4:15 – 5:15

BSU: Learning While Black Turnisha Cooper	A space where students can discuss, celebrate, and manifest Black excellence, leadership, and achievement.	All NS students may join	September 18th – December 4th Every other Wednesday	4:15 – 6:15
College Bound Kidz Academy Turnisha Cooper	Aims to provide students resources and guidance about their future, whether it be trade school, junior college, University, armed forces, or direct into the workforce. Middle School Student Council Naitoh Kai	The Student Council serves as the voice of the student body, addressing and shaping campus culture by discussing and implementing initiatives that reflect the needs and interests of our diverse community. High School Student Council Aleisha Readye	The Student Council serves as the voice of the student body, addressing and shaping campus culture by discussing and implementing initiatives that reflect the needs and interests of our diverse community. Dungeons and Dragons Nathaniel Davis	Fosters creativity and teamwork through immersive role-playing games and collaborative storytelling.	All NS students may join	September 10th – December 4th Every Tuesday and Wednesday	4:15 – 6:15
Latinx Power Moves Joy Ramirez	Provides a supportive community for students to connect, celebrate their heritage, and address issues relevant to the Latinx experience.	All NS students may join	September 11th – December 4th Every other Wednesday	4:15 – 6:15
National Honor Society Susan Gonzalez	Recognizes and supports students who demonstrate exceptional scholarship, leadership, service, and character.	9th-12th grade students	September 11th – December 4th Every Wednesday	before school 7:45 – 8:20

Uniforms policy for the 2024-2025 school year 

At YES Prep, we continue to see the benefits of students wearing YES Prep uniforms and apparel, including a sense of school pride, improved safety and more convenience for families. For this reason, we will have a standard uniform policy for the 2024-2025 school year. Students will be required to wear a YES Prep-branded polo or spirit shirt five days a week, with the option to wear a school-chosen variation like a college shirt on Fridays. 

2024-2025 Uniform Sale Price: 

SECONDARY - $5 spirit shirt; $8 polo shirt $31 uniform bundle (3 spirit shirts, 2 polo shirts)

Dress Code for 2024-2025

Students are not allowed to wear athletic bottoms of any kind: sweatpants6, sweat shorts, wind pants, leggings, etc. The only approved bottoms are jeans of any color or khaki bottoms. If student arrives at school in non-approved bottoms, they will be dress coded instructed to call home and placed in the In School Suspension room until the dress code is corrected. Once the dress code is corrected the student will return to their normal class schedule.

Transportation

Have you filled out the Transportation registration for next school year? 

If you haven’t done so already, please take this opportunity to fill out the 2024-2025 Transportation Registration Form available through Skyward Family Access. The 2024-2025 Transportation Registration Form closes on Friday, June 14. Remember that if your physical address in Skyward is not up to date, you need to contact your school’s registrar as soon as possible so you can complete the Transportation Enrollment Form. Returning students who do NOT submit their forms by June 14 will have to wait until August 30 to submit their transportation request. If you need additional support, you can find instructions on how to complete the Transportation Registration Form by clicking here.
